A Cheatham County woman who has been missing for weeks after setting out with her boyfriend on a cross-country trip has been found safe in Eureka, California. Police made contact with 33-year-old Nikki Alcaraz Tuesday afternoon (5/30/23) and she told them she was okay and did not need any help. However, her boyfriend, Tyler Stratton, was taken into custody after police discovered he had an outstanding warrant in Tennessee for failure to appear on a theft-related crime. Nikki’s family grew concerned after hearing that a witness had seen Stratton punch Alcaraz in the face in New Mexico. They were very relieved when surveillance footage from over the weekend showed Nikki selling her phone for cash in California. Now that she has been found, it is still not clear why Nikki has not contacted her family members.
