The Putman County Sheriff’s Office announced Monday (3/21/22)  that skeletal remains found on March 17th in the rural southern area of Putnam County have officially been identified as that of  27-year-old Joshua Brian Bohannon.  Bohannon was first reported missing by his wife on June 3rd, 2021, near Burgess Falls State Park, which is located in both White and Putnam Counties. On Thursday night, March 17th, 2022, the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office responded to the area after skeletal remains were discovered and reported by a citizen who lives near the area. It was apparent the remains had been there for some time and the remains were sent to the State Medical Examiner’s Office for identification. A complete Autopsy Report has not been issued by the Medical Examiner’s Office.
